Friends, Historians, and Sites of Interest

A note on my review policy.

So, I only review stuff that I really like! I cannot emphasise this enough. That includes TV programmes and books, and my interests are generally comedy and history.

I try and avoid the Seventeenth Century, although a great book or writer can persuade me to review them – I’m looking at you Deborah Swift and Robert Lloyd.

I never, ever, review books set during the English Civil War – as Blandford moves into the Restoration and  further that will likely extend. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some brilliant writers using the period: Mike Arnold, Giles Kristian, M.J. Logue, Katherine Clements, and D.W. Bradbridge are all fab writers that I adore, but I write in the same period and it would be a presumptuous piss-take to review them.
